A meeting between Commander People’s Liberation Army (PLA), General Li Qiaoming, and Chief of the General Staff (CGS) Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Muhammad Avais Dastgir, was held at PLA Army Headquarters, Beijing, on November 11, 2024.
The discussion focused on the evolving global and regional situation and measures to enhance bilateral military-to-military cooperation. During the meeting, the CGS extended heartfelt condolences for the loss of Chinese lives in the recent terrorist attack in Karachi and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the enhanced security of Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
The Chinese dignitary acknowledged the Pakistan Army’s efforts and measures to improve the security of Chinese nationals and assured wholehearted support to Pakistan.
Both sides agreed to further strengthen mutual cooperation to counter common enemies working against the peace and development of the region. Additional areas of defense cooperation were also deliberated, with both sides reviewing progress in military education, training, equipment, and technology.
It was further agreed to institutionalize mechanisms for the mutual sharing of experiences and enhance regular interactions.
