From October 8-9, 2024, the Strategic Vision Institute (SVI), Islamabad, hosted Islamabad Non-Proliferation Conference 2024, a two-day international event bringing together a distinguished group of scholars and experts from around the world. The conference aimed at fostering constructive dialogue on global strategic issues and share Pakistan’s policy perspectives.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), was the Chief Guest. The conference featured keynote addresses delivered by distinguished policymakers and practitioners from Pakistan including former CJCSC, General Zubair Mehmood Hayat (R), Advisor National Command Authority (NCA), Lieutenant General Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, and Advisor NCA, Lieutenant General Sarfraz Sattar.
Participants included prominent international scholars from various esteemed institutions, such as the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO RAS), the Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) in Russia, the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) in China, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in the U.S., the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in the United Kingdom, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University), Saint Petersburg State University, Shanghai University, Peking University, the University at Albany (State University of New York), and the University of Birmingham.
This high-level conference not only reinforced Pakistan’s commitment to global non-proliferation efforts, but also emphasized the importance of strategic dialogue in maintaining regional and international security.
