Well done, Red! Blue is the winner.
Sports play a crucial role in a soldier’s life, offering benefits that extend far beyond physical fitness. Engaging in sports fosters discipline, teamwork, and resilience—qualities indispensable in military life. As a young officer, I was deeply involved in sports and actively supported and promoted sportsmen. The following story reflects these enduring efforts.
Muhammad Faheem, rising from the humble streets of Lyari, exemplifies resilience and determination on his journey to the Olympics. Despite a challenging upbringing, Faheem excelled academically and joined the Pakistan Army. With a natural talent for boxing, he refined his skills at the Artillery Centre and later with the prestigious "Men of Crisis," a unit renowned for its boxing prowess. His unwavering dedication led to numerous victories and opened doors to greater opportunities.
Under the guidance of the Army Sports Directorate and selected solely on merit, Faheem received world-class coaching that set the stage for his remarkable rise to prominence. Representing both his nation and the Army, Faheem fulfilled his dream by competing in the flyweight category at the Thailand Olympics in 2024. His impressive list of achievements includes gold medals at the Army Championship 2023, Inter-department Championship 2023, National Championship 2023, and Interservices Championship 2024, culminating in his participation in the World Olympics Qualifier in Thailand in May 2024.
This extraordinary journey, spanning nearly a decade, is a testament to Faheem's unwavering perseverance. As a promising young athlete, his future brims with potential for even greater achievements, promising further glory for the army and the nation. Let us rally behind him, celebrate his successes, and anticipate more victories that will honor our esteemed army and country.
