Let’s have a quick look. Briefly, Environmental Pollution and Global Warming is the biggest threat to the Earth. Only the Zero-Waste Lifestyle proves to be the most effective measure among the various environmental-friendly steps taken so far.
With this lifestyle, we can be able to properly dispose of the waste material, instead of burning it down or throwing in the garbage dumps. We can recycle it or remake it ready to use the same material again and again, which can help in making the environment clean, green and healthy.
5-R’s – Pivotal to Zero-Waste Lifestyle
Reduce - The 1st ‘R’ let’s us minimize the use of unnecessary things.
Reuse – The 2nd ‘R’ tells us how to use a same thing again and again.
Recycle – The 3rd ‘R’ emphasizes on remanufacturing of an item through recycling.
Rot/Compost – The 4th ‘R’ relates to using the waste material from vegetables or fruit as fertilizer or feed for insects.
Raise Awareness – The 5th ‘R’ stresses upon involving other family members, friends, class fellows and community members to be aware of its benefits and so to adopt the similar lifestyle.
Keeping the “Five-R’s Formula” in mind, let us play our own role by adopting the Zero-Waste Lifestyle and helping to keep the earth clean and green.
Let us use following color boxes for throwing the waste material in order to make its reuse and recycling process easy:
Yellow Box – can be used for papers, tissues, charts or other stationery items.
Blue Box – can be used for glass bottles or drink-tins, etc.
Green Box – can be used as dustbin for the remaining food, fruits or vegetable leaves.
White Box – can be used for plastic waste material or polythene bags, etc.
Black Box – can be used for those waste items which cannot be recycled.
