Celebrating Spring and Joyous Eid

April 2024

Dear Kids! Assalam-o-Alaikum,
As the chilly winds bid farewell and the sun begins to shine brighter, we welcome you to the April edition of our beloved children’s magazine. This issue is dedicated to embracing the delightful spirit of spring that graces our beautiful land. It is a time of vibrant colours, fragrant blossoms, and joyous festivities. People belonging to all walks of life, especially young ones, come together and celebrate this season of new beginnings. They actively participate in spring festivals and flower exhibitions. From the bustling streets of Lahore to the serene gardens of Islamabad, and from the green fields of Sindh to the high peaks of Gilgit-Baltistan, the air is filled with laughter and excitement. Children along with parents, families and friends enjoy cultural performances, traditional music, and mouth-watering delicacies. One of the highlights of the winters wind-up is the National Citrus Festival held in Sargodha. Known for its lush orchards and succulent oranges, the district takes pride in showcasing the bounty of its land during this vibrant festival. Visitors from far and wide flock to taste the sweetness of Sargodha’s export-quality oranges, especially kinnows. Informative write-ups carried here will give you the delight of spring, and a taste of sweetness.
Dear Friends!
It’s Eid-ul-Fitr in the second week of April – the most joyous festival that marks the end of Ramadan. Yes, Eid reflects that fasting has ended but not the good deeds you started doing during Ramadan. Offering regular prayers, five times a day, must continue nonstop throughout the year. It will certainly pay you back. Among the fruits of Salah (namaz) is that it makes us avoid sins. Allah says in Quran: “Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing.” (29:45) In fact, the spiritual reflection and joy of Eid teaches us to continue helping the needy and respecting our elders. And remember that each new beginning is a chance to learn, grow, and discover your own unique path. For many of you, April heralds the beginning of a new academic year, too. With the exam results announced by the end of March, you embark on new adventures, meet new friends, and explore new subjects. Whether you are stepping into a new grade or transitioning to a new school, let us embrace this opportunity with added enthusiasm and curiosity – with a passion of learning new knowledge, and a spirit of serving the beloved homeland.
Dear Young Readers!
As you flip through the pages of this month’s Hilal for Kids, we invite you to embark on a journey of discovery.
