On March 5, 2024, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, attended the opening session of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) Member States Seminar hosted by Pakistan in Rawalpindi. The theme of the seminar was "Challenges in Military Medicines."

In his address, the CJCSC highlighted the emergence of new and complex healthcare challenges, pandemics, and humanitarian crises, emphasizing the need for crafting collective preparedness and response strategies. He stressed the importance of strengthening multilateral collaboration among SCO nations, particularly in the field of military medicine.
The CJCSC reiterated that both the Pakistani nation and the Pakistan Armed Forces take great pride in their partnership with the SCO and are fully committed to further expanding this cooperation. He expressed gratitude to the SCO for providing this platform for dialogue and cooperation, as well as to the delegates from partner countries for their wholehearted attendance.
