COAS, General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), witnessed the firing of various Air Defense weapon systems during Exercise Al-Bayza-III, 2024, at Sonmiani.
COAS observed the integrated fire and battle maneuvers of Army Air Defense weapon systems, which include High to Medium Air Defense Weapons System (HIMADS), Low to Medium Air Defense System (LOMAD), Short-Range Air Defense system (SHORADs), and Extended Short-Range Air Defense system (ESHORADs).
In a landmark achievement and milestone in enhancing the Air Defense of the aerial frontiers of Pakistan, the HIMAD system, in its maiden fire, successfully engaged the target at maximum ranges, along with other layered weapon systems that were tested during the exercise.
COAS highly appreciated the remarkable achievement of engaging targets with precision and the operational readiness of the Corps of Army Air Defense.
While interacting with the officers and troops, COAS highlighted that the Armed Forces of Pakistan are modernizing their systems in line with our requirements to deter and be able to respond to any threat emanating against Pakistan.
Commander Karachi Corps, Commander Army Air Defense, Inspector General Training and Evaluation, and Inspector General Arms also witnessed the exercise.
Earlier, COAS visited Army Air Defense Center. He laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and paid homage to martyrs of Armed Forces. COAS installed Lieutenant General Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, HI (M), as Colonel Commandant of Army Air Defense Corps.
