Special Representatives on Afghanistan Call on COAS

Matters of Regional Security and Situation in Afghanistan Discussed
Mr. Zamir Kabulov, Presidential Special Representative for Afghanistan, Russia, U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mr. Thomas West and Special envoy for Afghan affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, His Excellency Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, at GHQ on November 12, 2021.



During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, current security situation in Afghanistan and bilateral cooperation in various fields was discussed. COAS said that Pakistan desires to maintain the tradition of bilateral engagement with all the regional players and wishes for a long-term and multi-domain enduring relationship with Russia. COAS also reiterated the need for global convergence on Afghanistan, for avoiding humanitarian crisis, and coordinated efforts for the economic uplift of the Afghan people.



The visiting dignitaries appreciated Pakistan's role in the Afghan Peace Process, special efforts for border management, role in regional stability and pledged to play their part for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
