Seminar on Global Strategic Threat and Response Held at CASS

National and International Experts Share their Insights 
Centre for Aerospace & Security Studies (CASS) arranged a seminar on “Global Strategic Threat & Response” in Islamabad on March 4, 2020. The President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi was the chief guest at the inaugural session of the seminar. Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, was also present at the occasion. 

Addressing the seminar, the President said: “Pakistan understood the value of peace and it had been continuously talking of peace which was in sharp contrast to the belligerent designs of India. History is witness to the fact that wars were used as tools for exploitation and loot of the regions and resources.” Referring to the perilous situation in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and the ongoing pogrom against Muslims in India, he observed that the western interests were swaying the global bodies in which morality and justice often found no place.
Earlier, President CASS Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat (R) highlighted the aim and importance of this seminar in his welcome address. During the first session of the day, former Ambassador of the U.S. to Pakistan, Mr. Cameron Munter, spoke on the emerging new world order, while the former Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Inam-ul-Haq, talked about regional security dynamics. Former Foreign Secretary, Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani, delivered a lecture on Pakistan's challenges and opportunities in the emerging world order. In the second session of the day, CEO Royal Aeronautical Society, UK Air Chief Marshal Sir Brian Burridge (R), delivered a talk on emergent technology debate, whereas, Director Plan Jericho, Royal Australian Air Force, Lieutenant Colonel Lyle Holt, gave a presentation on the growth of technologies. The President VirtuaLabs SRL, Italy Dr. Filippo Neri Leonardo shared his insights on the weapons of the future. The last speaker of the session was Norwegian Defence Attaché UK and aviation security expert, Colonel Dr. John Andreas Olsen, who spoke on the future of air power.
A large number of renowned international and national experts and analysts along with high ranking defense and civil officials attended this seminar.
