Pakistan Navy Ships Visit Various Ports as Part of Overseas Deployment in the African Region

Efforts Made to Provide Humanitarian Assistance, Generate Goodwill and Enhance Interoperability
Pakistan Navy Ships MOAWIN and ASLAT visited Ports of Morocco, Mauritania, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa as part of Overseas Deployment to the African region. Mission Commander and Commanding Officers of the visiting ships called on prominent authorities of the host countries. During these visits, matters of mutual interest and bilateral naval collaboration were discussed with the dignitaries of host countries.
In addition to bilateral exercises, free medical camps were also established off the ports’ premises in Mauritania, Ghana and Nigeria by team of Pakistan Navy doctors and paramedics on these visits. The camps provided medical treatment and medicines to local patients, who were also treated aboard Pakistan Navy Ship MOAWIN, which is fitted with state-of-the-art medical facilities. Establishment of medical camps by Pakistan Navy was widely appreciated and generated tremendous goodwill amongst local populace. Overall, these camps provided treatment and medicines to thousands of local patients in the host countries.



Navigating towards east African region, Pakistan Navy Ships were extended a warm welcome at Port Dar es Salaam by Tanzania Navy. Mission Commander along with Commanding Officers of Pakistan Navy Ships called on Chief of Tanzanian Navy and other prominent Tanzanian authorities. Both sides displayed commitment and desire on further expanding and enhancing brotherly relations between the two countries. A reception dinner was also hosted aboard the ship. Senior officers of Tanzania Navy along with a large number of diplomatic corps and prominent local community attended the event.
During the visit to Port Mombasa, Kenya, Pakistan Navy Ships were received warmly by the Kenyan Navy. There the Mission Commander and the Commanding Officers of Pakistan Navy Ships called on Commander in Chief of Kenyan Navy, County Commissioner of Mombasa and other Kenyan authorities.
Heading towards northeast of African Region and while achieving milestones during overseas deployment, Pakistan Navy Ships also visited Port Victoria, Seychelles where the Mission Commander and the Commanding Officers called on Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles, Chief of Seychelles Defense Forces and other prominent authorities.
During the visit to ports of Tanzania and Kenya, as a gesture of goodwill free medical camps were established off ports by a team of Pakistan Navy doctors and paramedics. Overall, the medical camps provided treatment and medicines to more than 10,000 local patients in the host countries.  
The deployment of Pakistan Navy Ships to Africa is aimed at further strengthening friendly ties with African countries, enhancing naval collaboration, extending humanitarian assistance and developing interoperability with the host navies.
