Helping Friends in Need (Pakistan Army’s Selfess Services for Quake-hit Nepal)

Pakistan was amongst the first countries that responded to the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25, 2015. Earthquake measured 7.9 at richter scale has brought huge devastation for Nepal. Sensing the gravity of situation and recalling own experiences of ‘2005 Earthquake’ Pakistan has been very generous in expanding help to the people of Nepal. So far six C130s carrying relief goods including food items, water bottles, medicines, tents, blankets and other necessary items with teams of medical specialists and engineers have been dispatched.

A 30 bedded Pakistan Army Field hospital has been established at Bakhtapur, the most affected area in Nepal to treat the injured. Furthermore, a special search and rescue team of army equipped with state-of-the-art engineer’s equipment including ground penetrating radars, concrete cutter and sniffing dogs is also helping the Nepal Government.
