NUST Quetta Campus Inaugurated, Youth Encouraged to Achieve Individual and Collective Excellence
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Headquarters Southern Command, Quetta on September 13, 2019.
COAS was apprised of the progress on projects being undertaken as part of Khushal Balochistan (Prosperous Balochistan) Program. He appreciated the efforts of Army and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) for maintaining law and order situation in the province and facilitating completion of projects.
Later, COAS along with CM Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan inaugurated the newly established NUST Campus in Quetta. The establishment of the institute had been announced in 2017 and was completed in a period of over 2 years. In its first batch 550 students will start their Bachelors of Engineering (BE) degree in Civil Engineering and Computer Sciences courses. Masters (MS) in various disciplines including Water Resource Engineering Management, Tunneling/Mining Engineering and Computer & Allied Sciences programs is also available at the university. This initiative holds great potential for capacity building and enhancement of the people and province of Balochistan.
While there, the COAS also addressed students of various educational institutions of Balochistan. He appreciated the talented youth of Balochistan and urged the students to enable themselves for the forthcoming opportunities in different fields. He added, “Pakistan is going through an evolution process in its journey towards enduring peace and stability with a positive trajectory. The youth of the country will have to keep on working in the right direction with national cohesion to achieve individual and collective excellence”. He emphasized on a synergized approach from all segments of the society to confront future challenges.
