Gushtaba  Kashmiri dish

Ingredients

Minced meat (lamb)                  500 grams
Fennel seeds powder                 3 tsp
Whole spice powder                  ¾ tsp
Dry ginger powder                     1.5 tsp
Cumin powder                           1 tsp
Black cardamom powder           ½ tsp
Caraway seeds                          2 tsp
Bay leaf                                      3
Salt                                             2.5 tsp
Oil                                              3 tbsp
Ghee                                          2 tbsp
Yogurt                                        1 cup
Cinnamon stick                         1.5 inch piece
Green cardamom                      2 pieces
Black cardamom                       1 piece
Cloves                                       4-5 pieces
Onion                                         2 medium sized, chopped

Directions

  • Add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp fennel seeds powder, 1/2 tsp dry ginger powder, 1/4 tsp whole spice powder, 1/4 tsp black cardamom powder and 2 tbsp oil in minced meat, mix it well.
  • Take some oil in your hand and make minced meat balls. Set them aside.
  • In a wok add 4 glasses of water and add whole spices green and black cardamoms,cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaves, and remaining salt, fennel seeds powder, ginger powder, cumin powder, whole spice powder and black cardamon powder.
  • Set flame on high and let it boil for ten minutes, after boiling for ten minutes strain the water and add meat balls to boiling water and let it cook for twenty five minutes on medium flame.


  • In a separate pot, heat ghee and add chopped onions and fry them on medium heat until golden brown. Take out onions and make a fine paste in a chopper.
  • Now add ½ tsp caraway in the ghee used for frying onions and add 1 cup stirred yogurt and onion paste, cook for five minutes and add this mixture in meat balls curry and let this mixture cook for five to seven minutes on medium flame. 
  • Delicious Gushtaba is ready to serve. It can be served with white rice or chapati.

Banoffee Pie

Ingredients

Butter                             115 grams
Cookie crumbs               250 grams
Dulce de leche                1 cup
Bananas                         4 small
Whipping cream             300 grams
Grated chocolate            as much you need

Directions

  • Add cookie crumbs to the butter and mix until well combined.
  • Take a tin mould and spread biscuit mixture onto the base. Press against the bottom and sides. That’s the base of the pie. Let it chill for ten minutes in the fridge.
  • Once it is set, slice bananas and put them on the prepared base and spread dulce de leche on top. Let it rest in the fridge for two hours until firm and ready to serve. 
  • Carefully lift the pie from the tin and move onto a serving plate. Now put whipping cream on dulce de leche and decorate it with grated chocolate.
  • Yummy banoffee pie is ready, serve it right away.HH
