In connection with 75^th Independence Day Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the day dawned with a 21-gun salute presented by the Pakistan Army at the Ayub Stadium, Lahore Garrison on August 14, 2022. The city’s atmosphere echoed with the slogans of Allah-o-Akbar and Pakistan Zindabad by the soldiers.

A graceful change of guard ceremony was also held at the mausoleum of the Shair-e-Mashriq, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal. General Officer Commanding, Major General Muhammad Shehbaz Khan was the chief guest at the ceremony. He laid floral wreath at Mazar-e-Iqbal, offered Fateha (Prayer), inspected the parade and recorded his comments in the visitor’s book at the mausoleum.
Later, to pay homage, a ceremonial guard of Pakistan Army presented salami to the author of national anthem of Pakistan, Abu Al-Asar Hafeez Jalandhari and laid floral wreath at his grave in Greater Iqbal park.
