COAS Awarded Order of Military Merit by King Abdullah II of Jordan
Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Jordan on an official visit from October 2-5, 2018. He called on His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein. During the meeting regional security situation and bilateral cooperation were discussed. His Majesty expressed earnest desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries in multiple fields including security, defence production, education and investment opportunities. COAS assured His Majesty that Pakistan has the highest regard for Jordan and would welcome any positive initiatives. General Qamar Javed Bajwa was awarded the medal ‘Order of Military Merit’ by His Majesty in recognition of his services for improving defence and security relations between the two brotherly countries.
Earlier, COAS met Lt Gen Mahmoud Freihat, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff of Jordanian Armed Forces and offered full cooperation in defence relations, training and joint exercises. The Jordanian Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff thanked COAS and stated that Jordan considers Pakistan one of the most reliable partners and is ready to take the relationship to the next level. Both military leaders noted the convergence in strategic views and the considerable efforts towards improving peace and stability.
